V-brake is a very common brake device on bicycles. Two brake pads generate frictional force on the rim of the rim, so as to achieve the braking effect. Because its shape resembles the word "V", it is called V brake. V-brakes are widely used in various bicycles and electric vehicles.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages of V brakes:

1. Light weight
2. Simple structure, easy to install, maintain and repair
3. Low cost and high cost performance
4. The maintenance cost is relatively low

Disadvantages of V brakes:

1. It is easy to slip on rainy days, mud or wading roads
2. Long-term friction and heat generation, the braking effect is reduced
3. Excessive force will cause the tire to lock
4. Improper installation will lead to deformation of the rim
5. Bad brake pads will damage the rim and even crack the rim. Bad rims may lead to insufficient braking force and life.
6. During long-distance braking friction, the softness of the rubber will cause the friction surface to overheat and the braking force will be attenuated or lost.
